  Face verification

  Confirms the candidate’s identity by comparing the face photo taken at registration with the image from the in-vehicle camera.

  Centimetre-level positioning

  RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) GNSS satellite positioning locates the vehicle to within centimetres.

  Vision AI

  AI cameras detect objects in real time and monitor the driver’s checks for pedestrians, hand position, the traffic-light colour and the distance to the car in front.

  Live control room

  A dashboard in the control room shows each test vehicle’s location and brief test information in real time, with test statistics.

  Tablet application

  An in-vehicle tablet for automatic or manual scoring. Voice prompts and on-screen arrows guide the candidate along a randomised test route, and the whole test is stored digitally.

  Traffic-light link

  A traffic-light detector, a Wi-Fi module and the vehicle antenna link the traffic lights to the test vehicle. Traffic lights and road signs are detected for scoring.

  Rear radar

  A rear radar measures the distance, direction and speed of vehicles behind, including vehicles approaching during a lane change. It works in rain, fog and snow.

  Lane-departure warning

  The front camera detects when the vehicle leaves its lane and measures the distance to the vehicle ahead, for automatic scoring.
